Red eye flight Darwin to Sydney, I can think of more fun things to do........ Like sleep. On the plus side though the view of Darwin at midnight is very pretty and Sydney at dawn equally pretty and this brings us one step closer to our catch up with great friends and the wedding, yippee!!!! 2 travel legs down.... 2 (about another 8 hours or so) to go. :)

29 sleeps til Jazz and Ethan get to see their Brisbane family. 30 sleeps til we head to Tassie. 32 sleeps til we witness the marriage of one of the most awesome couples we know. 37 sleeps til I see my mummy! Whoohoo! Oh yeah and Christmas is in there somewhere too! A tad excited and not at all counting down the days! Lol.

Wow What a Year!!!

Yes it has nearly been a year since we packed up our lives in Brisbane and made the massive move to Katherine in The Northern Territory. I have been pretty slack with blogging as life has been incredibly busy. There is so much to look back on an remember from this year and I want to be able to remember in years to come, this "most excellent adventure" (a little Bill and Ted Humour) so I have been thinking the past few days that I will complete a month in review post over the next few weeks for each month that we have been here. Some posts will definately be bigger than others because some months have been very much action packed.  All in all (as much as it pains me to say) it has been a fantastic year with many firsts, many new things learned (good and not so good) and we in some ways surprised ourselves with how well things have gone.  I will post the January installment soon...........so stay tuned...............

I think my deep seeded childhood fear of dogs (big noisy scary ones that bite) has resurfaced. This creates a bit of a problem because there are so many camp dogs in the communities I work in. Any ideas as to how I can manage it and not look like a big sooky wuss in front of the families I work with? (I guess at least I provide the families with a form of amusement!!)

We have had a fantastic "long weekend" in Darwin, a truly beautiful place. An awesome baby shower with spectacular views at Darwin Sailing Club. Dinner at the Casino and the Mindil Beach markets. Thanks again to Todd and Rachel for being such gracious hosts and tour guides yet again. It has made settling in up here so much easier having such great friends nearby.

To stock up on supplies as this is a service town with a long distance to either Darwin, the WA border or Alice Springs. Today is particularly busy with the caravan carpark full so the "nomads" have spilled out onto the grass beside the carpark. These tourists come a long way to see the sites that the NT has to offer.

75 sqn. 70th anniversary black and white ball.

last night brad and i got all dressed up and headed out to the black and white 75 sqn ball. itwas a lovely night and we had heaps of fun. we have had heaps of opportinities this year to attend formal events and living so close to all the festivities makes it so easy to be a partof it all. During the speeches we heard if stories of how 75sqn came to be and it highlighted to me just how important the job that brad and his colleaguesand everyone in the military have. below is a pic of us dressed up ready to go that jazzy took on brads phone. not the best pic but it will do.  I have also decided that i am going to try to do photo a day this month so will be using instagram to add them to my blog. i will locate the list and add it too.

Don't you love it when your kids use your advice to them on you. I was trying to convince myself that i am keen to play netball tonight and than says mum little blue engine, i think i can i think i can! Lol.

You might have noticed a few strange posts on my blog the past few days. This week I have participated in an IT professional development session for work and learnt a few new tricks and tips for making my blog updates quick and easy. So from here on in you might find a few more blog posts. right now, here a few photos from our recent visit to Gunlom falls Kakadu. Beacause of Dry season the falls are not huge at the moment but the top of them were just gorgeous. I can't locate a photo of the top of the falls at the moment though. We took Brad's parents with us and it was a great weekend. We have made some small modifications to our camper trailer and it is awesome now!!!

Professional Development week for work this week. Feeling invigorated, inspired and reassured. It is a good feeling!
